Soaring Buzzard Soaring Buzzard Buzzard soaring above the mud flats at Deveron looking for a small wader to catch for tea Wildlife in Cornwall

I am very lucky to live where I do I have the best that Cornwall can offer. Living near Truro its only a few minutes and I am on the North Coast with its long sandy beaches and its rugged cliffs. Deveron is a tiny village a mile away from where I live it has an amazing amount of waterfowl, the waders that feed on the crustaceans that live in the mud. I have seen Greenshank, Redshank,Curlews,Little Egrets and Geese. Then there is the Buzzard that tries to catch the small birds feeding as the tide comes in. The gulls fly up and give him a hard time quite a site to see.

I have just bought another camera and long lens to try and capture the wonderful creatures in their natural habitat. I will need a porter to carry all the equipment soon.

Curlews in FlightCurlews in FlightCurlews flying over a farm at Deveron. They have been feeding on worms in the fields.

These Curlews have been feeding in a farmers field just outside Deveron Having the best of both worlds food ashore and on the mud flats when the tide is out.
